Interfaith collaboration is a crucial global issue in the 21st century; the relations between different religions are no longer simply antagonistic and competitive. Dialogue and exchange with each other, seeking more common understanding, consensus, and humanitarian action further, jointly promoting collaboration among religions, are already the focus of more and more religious leaders or followers. Master Cheng Yen believes that religion is Life Purpose and Life Education, and there is no distinction between views of religion, those cross barriers of race or religion or belief. It convinced that when faith is at its deepest, there are no differences with each other, and different religions should eventually meet in the mind of piety. Master believes that all the religions of the True Faith have a common idea of philosophy. Whether it is the love of Christianity, the love of Allah, or the compassion of Buddhism, are sincere love. The direction of loving humanity and cherishing the earth is the same, and the ultimate goals of all are to serve human with love. He called for the concept of humanistic care to practice charity together and accompany together. Echoing the call of Master, corresponding to the situation’s needs, Tzu Chi volunteers try to implement the ideal of Master Cheng Yen in international Disaster Relief and collaborate with other religious institutions. This study takes an example of the experience of Tzu Chi volunteers, partnering with the four significant foundations for anitarian aid in the Republic of Sierra Leone in West Africa. Attempts to explore possible models of interfaith collaboration under Tzu Chi's concept of practice charity together and accompany together; try to understand its benefits as a comparison of past models, future developments, and possible limitations. Based on Document Analysis, the following conclusions were reached:1. Partnering to Serve Humanity, collaborate with four foundations of different religions, compared to past models: In the care of the lives of vulnerable groups, improve the nutrition and quality of life of the recipients; in terms of medical health and education, prevent diseases from entering the mouth and improved the quality of local medical institutions; in terms of education and training, rich in goods and materials and financial aid, to enable partners to do more to help disadvantaged children go to school and improving the school environment. 2. Tzu Chi volunteers echo the master's humanistic care concept of practicing charity together and accompanying together, collaborating with other religious institutions, and crossing barriers of religion, race, or belief. With an open and rusting attitude, flexible negotiation, effective division of work, and tacit understanding of each other; Partnering to Serve Humanity, a partnership with four foundations of different religious institutions, working together on manitarian aid, and dealing with Collaborative governance may be one of the possible models of the future. 3. Partnering to Serve Humanity is a possible model of C |
