Abstract佛門歷來推崇親稟釋尊、代代相承——惟有師資相承、授受清凈,方能確保正法之流綿綿不絕,方談得上"續佛慧命"。故各宗各派,分別各有傳承。禪門更有"傳法付衣"之說。就禪宗行人言,從初修行直至證悟,均離不開師資指導、勘辨、印證。惟有時時得善知識提持開發,方可防止盲修瞎煉,甚或落入魔外圈繢;方能斷惑證真,徹法源底。固然,燈錄中亦有利根人"無師自悟"之記載,但若"悟"后不入作家爐篝,未經宗師辨邪正、行賞罰,便無法保證其所"悟"為正悟、所入為圣道。最后,亦惟有師承有據,方能登堂授受,荷負大法。否則,未證謂證、未得謂得者,必將接跡于世。聿起于中唐之臨濟一宗,經十傳至佛果克勤,其門人大慧宗杲、虎丘紹隆分衍"大慧"、"虎丘"兩大支派。前者法孫妙峰之善、北磵居簡二人,復傳出"之善"、"居簡"二系;后者三傳弟子松源崇岳、破庵祖先二人,則傳出"松源"、"祖先"二系。后世臨濟耆德,幾乎全從"之善"、"居簡"、"松源"、"祖先"四系法嗣中出。遞傳至明代,"開基之主"朱元璋雖亦尊崇佛教,但宥于徹底統制各種社會力量以確保朱明王朝能夠延續千秋萬代之私欲,特別制定《周知板冊》、《寺院名冊》等空前嚴酷之峻法,甚至不惜采用特務監控、濫刑濫殺等自東漢直至滿清王朝所絕無僅有的手段戕害見心來復等碩德高僧,開遺禍無窮之邪風。禪門眾耆德鑒此違緣,紛紛沉寂辭世,"松源"及"居簡"、"之善"三系葉裔遂相繼絕響。
