Abstract | This thesis provides a comparative look at the notions of karma from Lynken Ghose and determinism and free will from Peter Van Inwagen. This research presents to readers a reformulation of Van Inwagen’s concept of determinism merged with Ghose’s conception of karma with the conclusion that Van Inwagen’s position is made stronger by the union of these two ideas. This project shows that the key concept of "free-will" in Ghose's conception of karma is not incompatible with Van Inwagen's conception of determinism. |
