Abstract章太炎將文王、孔子、老子、莊子并稱為"域中四圣",此四圣皆是冥會華梵、悲憫利生的大乘菩薩。章太炎認為,文王在最高智慧上與佛乘并無二致,文王作易,始以乾坤,"乾知大始,坤作成物"即隱喻阿賴耶識變現天地萬物;同時,文王意識到眾生在種種無明中難以覺悟,故以"未濟"來表達他度化眾生的大悲心。生生之道為"既濟"之世間法,度脫眾生為"未濟"之出世間法,出世間法不壞世間法,真妄一元,俗真同體。《菿漢微言》指出"唯文王為知憂患,唯孔子為知文王",此中之憂患不是開物成務之世間法意義上的憂患,而是自證證他、覺悟眾生之煩惱障。章太炎一生默會《周易》的憂患意識,此憂患意識對其人其學影響甚深,憂患是章太炎一生學思的底色,也是對其人格精神的玉成。
