抄録 | The purpose of this thesis is to analyze Citta according to Theravada Buddhist Philosophy and to work out its development on the way of The Eighthfold Path. The reason of analyzing of Citta is to show different meaning between Citta and what so-called mind in English. Though mind is used in the place of Citta even it is inadequate and vague word one should understand their meaning and should critically analyze its meaning. According to Theravada Buddhism Citta is changeable, impermanent while mind is stable and immortal.
For the benefit of anyone who is interested to study about Citta it is divided in chapters beginning from Citta's meaning, Citta's function in the life, way of its development and benefits obtained from it.
The reason why the development of Citta is emphasized is to bring balance of Citta-development with fast developing of material. Because without the equal development of these two there will be no happiness in human beings. Fast development of material, happiness and pleasure that come from material put people's Citta very backward believing that material could solve all the problems. That's why these two developments should go together if anyone likes to live peacefully and happily.
The way to practice of Citta-development should be useful and beneficial for both sides, practicer and others. This way must be good for practicer and not harmful for other. The present world is full of conflict, war and etc. between people to people, nation to nation. To stop these conflict and war there is only one way that is to follow the way of Citta-development for present and future.
The correct way to stop conflict and war is to follow the Eightfold Path which is practicable not only for Buddhist but also for all human beings, their society and nation. |
