| 抄録 | 道安法師是佛教界中一位思想家、實踐家，注重苦修，其一生著作百萬餘言，對於促進臺灣佛教發展有其啟發與標竿作用，尤其對於發展佛教教育文化事業方面等承先啟後，對於佛教產生廣泛和深遠的影響。
道安法師一生功績甚多，是戰後臺灣佛教文化事業的先驅和主將，對於教育理念的解析，散見著作中。常在各大學講學，並設立大專佛學講座，創辦慈航中學，創建松山寺，對於佛教的文化傳播方面，殫精竭慮，創辦《獅子吼月刊》、《獅子吼文庫》、主持臺灣印經處，出版淨土叢書，廣印佛典流通等等。在當時經濟困頓與封閉保守的環境之下，還能在佛教學術、佛教文化、佛教史學、佛子的僧伽教育等領域創辦或開展，實屬很大的創舉，也是很困難的。雖然這些志業有的還沒開始或延續下去，但是藉由本文可以還原當時的事件始末，了解道安法師對整個佛教界及社會的貢獻。如果沒有道安法師的茹苦含辛，今日的佛教教育文化事業不會開展的如此絢爛蓬勃。
Ven. Dao An was a Buddhist philosopher and practitioner who emphasized penitence. He had written millions of words throughout his life and exercised inspiring and benchmark influence on the development of Buddhism in Taiwan, especially having broad and profound influence on inheriting the past and ushering the future regarding the enterprise of Buddhist educational and cultural affairs.
Ven. Dao An had numerous achievements throughout his life and was the pioneer and leading force of Taiwanese Buddhist cultural enterprises after the Second World War. His viewpoint regarding education could be found in his essays. He often lectured in various universities and founded college Buddhism seminars. He also founded Ci Hang High School and Songshan Temple. He dedicated himself to the cultural diffusion of Buddhism, founded “Shizihou Monthly” and “Shizihou Series”, hosted the Taiwan Buddhist Scripture Publishing Institute, published the “Pure Land Book Series”, and printed many copies of Buddhist scriptures for distribution. Under the economic hardships and conservative social environment, it was a great accomplishment and difficult feat for Ven. Dao An to establish and start up Buddhism Sangha education regarding the academic research, culture and history of Buddhism. Although some of his enterprises failed to start or continue, this essay intends to restore history to understand Ven. Dao An’s contribution to Buddhism and the society. Without the dedication of Ven. Dao An, the educational and cultural enterprises of Buddhism would not be as well-developed and thriving as today. |
