抄録 | 本論文的研究方式是以自我敘述的書寫方式,闡述與記錄這十年(2012至2022)來,透過毗婆舍那四念住身、受、心、法的覺知觀照方法練習,在過程中於意識、生理、情緒及行為等方面所產生的漸進式轉變現象。自2012年5月來到泰國清邁鐘通縣佛舍利寺禪修中心的初階禪修20日教導後,返回家中獨自禪修練習7年多。於2020年2月再度前往禪修中心學習進階禪修10日的教導後,持續居家禪修至今的練習過程。 論文於2019年11月開始著手書寫。原先的書寫動機來自於想把這麼簡單及功效良好的修行工具,仔細地描述下來。有機會能介紹給身邊親朋好友或出現修行意願的有緣人,作為修行參考。也讓更多人了解修行人並非是苦行者,而是透過很簡單的覺知方法,習慣地運用於生活中練習即可改變。過程非但沒有苦的感受,反而是解苦為樂的輕鬆捷徑。再者透過書寫及思惟這些不同面向的改變流程,意外地啟發了與過去職業背景中,所學習到的相關身心科學知識連結了起來。在知識與經驗感受的雙雙互動交流下,明顯深刻的身心素質轉化過程,產生了足以充分理解與詮釋的契合,更加深了自己對四念住的修行信念。於是除了禪修過程與轉化狀態的敘述外,基於體認對於人的身心本質基礎知識的重要性,於第二章相關理論與文獻探討中,也特別整理了與意識、生理、情緒及行為學習相關的基礎知識。讓閱讀者也能伴隨著修行中,於此四方面的轉化現象,去對照理解身心互為影響的重要根據與線索。 自2016年進輔大宗教系的學習已近6年,超過2年半的書寫及閱讀日子,也自然地成為了進階禪修學習後的修行生活面貌之一。在回顧與記錄、省思與正念覺照的複雜交手反映中,生命的過往、現今與來時面象,也呈現出更為清晰的實境狀態。這個書寫過程,十足為自己生命的質量與深廣向度,帶入了更精妙細微的覺照狀態,邁向無可限度的生命發現中。
The research method of this dissertation is based on Autoethnography (Self narrative inquiry), expounding and recording the past ten years(2012-2022) through the practice of Vipassana (Insight) meditation practice on the Four Foundation of Mindfulness, with mindful awareness on the body, feeling, mind and mind-objects. Through the process of mindful awareness practice, mindfully observe and be aware the gradual transformation of the consciousness, physiological state, mental emotion, and behavior and attitudes. In May 2012, I went to Wat Phradhatu Sri Chom Tong Voravihara, a temple centered on meditation practice located in Chiang Mai Thailand. I took up a 20-day of fundamental Vipassana meditation practice. After finished the fundamental meditation course, I returned to my homeland, Taiwan, and continue to practice the meditation technique for over 7 years. In February 2020, I went to the temple again to complete a 10-day advance meditation practice. Ever since I continue to practice meditation as home-based, a non-temple environment. This research expounds and explores the abovementioned meditation practice from May 2012 till this dissertation is submitted. I started to write the thesis in November 2019. The original motivation for writing it came from wanting to record and elaborate carefully and attentively such simple, good and effective meditation practice technique. In this way, having the opportunity to introduce this meditation technique to my relatives and friends, or to people who serendipitously of fate and destiny show interests in learning and practicing the meditation for their meditation practice guidelines. Besides, it can also let more people understand that meditation practice is not only for ascetic practitioners. Instead, meditation practice is a very simple method of mindful awareness. Through habitual application of this mindful awareness practice in daily life, one’s life can be transformed, to become more happiness. The process of mindful practice is a path of free one’s suffering, instead of a process of painfulness. Indeed, it is a short cut of reaching a state of happiness, liberation of mind. Through the process of thesis writing, as well as contemplation of the transformation of different aspects of my life, it aroused the connection from my past professional background. That is, the connection of the relevant knowledge related to physical and psychological science of my previous professional learning. Under the interaction and exchange of knowledge and experience, I observed and felt the obvious profound changing process of my physical and mental quality. It produced a corresponding combination for sufficient understanding and interpretation for me. In turn, it deepened my belief and faith in the practice of the Four Foundation of Mindfulness. Therefore, in addition to the description of the process of meditation process and my transformation both bodily and mentally, relevant physical and psychological knowledge that connects one’s mind and bodily quality is discussed.
