抄録 | 中亞的佛學大師鳩摩羅什於公元 402 年由涼州進入當時後秦的首都長安,爾後並傳進了罽賓的念佛禪法及中亞地區以實相為主的念佛三昧,並在《維摩詰經‧佛國品》的翻譯過程中介紹出有關「淨土」形成的重要概念,對爾後中國地區淨土一宗的形成注入了重大的推動力量。故研究上有必要對羅什入關以前中國淨土學界的體質作一番檢視的工作,以了解當時有何種淨土經典?何種淨土思想?何種淨土禪觀?及有那些人物在從事推動的工作?以作為研究外來羅什與本土淨土結合後如何進一步演變的基礎。
In 402 CE the Central Asian Buddhist master Kumaarajiiva passed through Liang-chou and arrivedin Ch'ang-an, then capital of the later Ch'in dynasty. He brought with him both the method of mindfulness with buddha prevalent in Kashmir and the mindfulness with buddha samaadhi concentrating on the ultiamte mode of existence which came from Central Asia. Moreover, in his translation of the Vimalakiirtinirde'sa some important ideas about the creation of pure lands are introduced in the first chapter. All this provided an vital impet us for the establishment of the Pure Land School in China. It is therefore necessary to inquire into the substance of Chinese Pure Land learning prior to Kumaarajiiva –– which pure land scriptures were available at that time, what were the relevant concepts, which kind of pure land meditations were practised and who engaged in the spread of these teachings. Understanding this provides the basis on which it is possible to study how pure land thought developed in China after Kumaarajiiva's imported ideas had merged with the local tradition. |
