| 抄録 | 《繪本心經》是台灣佛教界首本以《心經》為主題的繪本，亦是星雲法師與義大利插畫家朱里安諾共同創作的《心經》繪本。星雲法師擅長以淺顯易懂的方式講說佛法，並善用寓言故事將佛典曉以大義，使讀者可以從書中了解《心經》，培養正向的人生觀。而義大利插畫家朱里安諾善於運用西方彩繪手法，完整呈現東方水墨風格，即以圖說故事的方式來詮釋文字。本研究透過第二章《心經》析論的梳理，了解《心經》的源流，並進一步闡述當代《心經》圖畫書藉由圖文的傳播及特性，所作經典再現的現代詮釋及其意義。而本研究以敍述學於第三章做文字詮釋的分析，掘發《繪本心經》的主題思想，從人間、世界、人生、實踐方法等四個面向，來詮釋《心經》的義理內涵。在敘述結構上則運用傳統經典的三分科判，探討繪本的敍述結構來做故事內容的鋪陳。在寓言的選材上，則探究如何以佛經故事作為改寫的再詮釋。另外，第四章圖像分析中，繪者亦配合文字的敍述結構，透過繪本的結構用圖像將整本書串連起來，形成圖文互文的詮釋結構。以符號學的角度而言，《繪本心經》的圖像具有深淺不同的寓意表現，即透過圖像來詮釋《心經》義涵，以提供讀者對圖像符號、象徵的了解，並進一步回應《繪本心經》承襲傳統又具創新的現代經典詮釋風格。
The Illustrated Heart Sutra is the first illustrated book on the Heart Sutra in the Buddhist sphere of Taiwan. This is also a collaborative illustrated book by Venerable Master Hsing Yun and Italian illustrator Giuliano Ferri. Venerable Master Hsing Yun is accomplished in using simple and understandable way to expound Buddhist teachings, as well as using allegories to interpret Buddhist scriptures so that readers could cultivate positive outlook on life by understanding the Heart Sutra. As for Italian illustrator Giuliano Ferri, he skillfully presented Eastern style of ink wash painting through Western painting techniques to interpret the content of the book. The second chapter of this research will dissect the interpretations of the Heart Sutra by looking at its original sources, and continues to examine modern picture books of the Heart Sutra to discover the specialty of reinterpret the sutra with a modern outlook by spreading the sutra through picture and words. The third chapter will analyze the interpretation of written content through the lens of narratology to discover the four main concepts of The Illustrated Heart Sutra, which are the humanism, world, life, and practice, so as to interpret the concepts and values of the Heart Sutra. As for the narrative structure, it uses the traditional three textual divisions of a sutra to investigate how the narrative structure lay down the foundation for the story’s content. As for the choice of allegories, this dissertation will research how Buddhist stories are adapted and represented. Moreover, the fourth chapter will focus on the analysis of images. The illustrator combines the structure of an illustrated book and narration to create a graphic and written interpretation. From the perspective of semiotics, the images of The Illustrated Heart Sutra have different allegorical representation. It uses images to interpret the meaning and value of the Heart Sutra, providing readers an explanation on images, symbols and their meanings. This book is both an inheritance of the traditional way of interpreting a scripture, as well as a modern innovative interpretation. |
