| 抄録 | 《大悲懺》是現代台灣諸多道場經常性舉辦禮懺法會，也是筆者長期固定會參加懺儀之一，在宋代這樣得時空背景製做出來的儀軌蘊隨著時空的轉換又會有什麼樣的轉變，為了更了解其的精神與內涵，興起研究的念頭。再者，因筆者住在台南地區除了地利之便外，近幾十年來千佛山寺院積極從事弘法事業發展，開山白雲老和尚更利用當代傳播媒體從事電視弘法，提倡信佛、學佛、可以成佛，指導信眾將佛法運用在現實生活上，讓筆者受益非淺，故選擇以台南市關廟區千佛山菩提寺為研究場域，研究期間使用參與觀察法實地觀察並與菩堤寺的法師、信眾做非正式會話訪談，以了解大悲懺共修在信眾心中的感受；在理論分析方面使用伊利亞德神聖空間與時間宗教象徵的建構方式解讀儀式精神，從中了解大悲懺流傳千年仍燃屹立不搖的價值所在，廣受台灣信眾喜愛的原因。以及布爾迪厄(Bourdieu)的「慣習」概念，慣習是持久可轉換的性情傾向系統，是一些有結構的結構傾向於作為觸結構化的結構發揮作用。一直累積在身上的性情傾向，與外在環境發生衝突時產生變化，因為施為者會改變自己的習慣迎合外在環境。慣習也讓我們理解到社會再生產的機制：藉由「外在性的內化及內化性的外化」，個人才覺得適得其所。以呈現信眾在禮懺儀式的過程當中，如何接受佛法的薰習，淨化內心進而實踐於日常生活中的目的。
