Master Hsing Yun, the founder of Foguangshan, took almost about 40 years to establish this organization. The Foguangshan devotees embrace the idea: “Buddha’s light shines upon the three thousand worlds and the Dharma stream flows across the five continents” and the objectives: “To Propagate Dharma Through Cultural Undertakings, To Nature Talents Through Education,To Benefit Society Through Charity, To Purify Human Minds Through Group Cultivation” of Foguangshan. Nowadays, Foguangshan has around 200 temples and 1000 Buddha’s Light International Associations in the world. Foguangshan has propagated the dharma around the world. Malaysia Foguangshan, is an important branch which tries to follow the idea and development through the same objective. Malaysia Foguangshan succeeded to propagate dharma for 20 years. It established about 20 branches of temple and 20 branches of Buddha’s Light International Associations. Malaysia Foguangshan developed through 3 periods as follows: period infancy, period foundation, and period stable. After the 3 periods, Foguangshan began to get deep rooted.
