The reason that Tan Szu-Tungs’ “Jen-hsueh” had taken an important position of modern Chinese academicism is because of its’ discussing of “break the restraint”, which had caused the reformism of Ching Dynasty, and revealed “earnestly practice” philosophy. Over the years, although the researchers had have indicated the importance of “Jen-hsueh” and “break the restraint”, yet there were not any achievements displayed. Therefore, I bring up “Political thinking”, “Li lu(利祿)”、“Su xue(俗學)”、“Quan qiu que xue(全球群學)”、“Tain(天)”, “She hui lun chang(社會倫常)”, “Buddhism”, “life philosophy as well as life practice” in this text, hoping to provide a new start with this subject. The purpose of this dissertation:Tan Szu-Tung had done his best to reform all his life, through expounding Confucian tradition and absorbing Western essence, he established his own theory. This thesis refers to the materials such as “Jen-hsueh” published by Shyne-Sheng publishing house and “Tan Szu-Tung complete work(譚嗣同全集)”by Hwa Shyh publishing house are my main reference materials by “Tan Szu-Tung complete work(譚嗣同全集)”by Jong Hwa publishing house, “Tan Liu-Yang complete work(譚瀏陽全集)” by Wen Hae publishing house, “Tan Szu-Tung complete work(譚嗣同全集)”by San Liam publishing house, and other related books. My researching motive based on whether later generations really understood? or misinterpret his thought which unable to restore his historical orientation? According to Tan Szu-Tungs’ opposing Confucian tradition as his objective, how did Tan Szu-Tung achieve mastery of Chinese as well as western thought, and bring about another new doctrine? How to look upon Tan Szu-Tungs’ historical position is the purpose of the dissertation? The research method: my thesis is based mainly on “Fa sheng yan jiu fa(發生研究法)” and assisted in “Ji yuan wen ti yan jiu fa(基源問題研究法)”.The approach of this research is as follows: The first chapter: an introduction. to develop the thread of academic research as well as the motive, scope, method, interpret foundation, process and the purpose of the research, and summering the achievements of predecessors. The second chapter: Tan Szu-Tungs’ breaking the restraint of “Political thinking”. This chapter based on Tan Szu-Tungs’ being concerned about politics and society, and than leaded to probe intoDifference between “Man(滿)” and “Han(漢)”, “Min ben thinking(民本思想)”, he had developed an important ideology foundation based on people’s democracy. The third chapter: Tan Szu-Tungs’ breaking the restraint of “Li lu(利祿)”、“Su xue(俗學)、“Quan qiu qun xue(全球群學)”、“Tain(天)”. This chapter based on Tan Szu-Tungs’ being concerned about Confucian scholar, and than leaded to the breaking the restraint of “Li lu(利祿)”、“Su xue(俗學)“、“Quan qiu qun xue(全球群學)“、“Tain(天)” to establish a new learning.
