The purpose of this case study was to explore a Tzu-Chi Teacher's teaching beliefs and teaching behaviors. Based on the ethnography, a Tzu-Chi Teacher in a fifth-grade was selected. In the process, participant observations and interviews were used to collect data. There were several findings: 1.The teaching beliefs and teaching behaviors of a Tzu-Chi Teacher was deeply effected by Master Cheng Yen and Tzu-Chi Kindness Association. 2.The Tzu-Chi Teacher's teaching beliefs were specialty. 3.The Tzu-Chi Teacher's teaching beliefs has great influence on his teaching behaviors. 4.The significant feature of the Tzu-Chi Teacher's teaching activities is Jing-si-yu(aphorism靜思語) Instruction. 5.The Jing-si-yu Instruction not only a "good word" teaching, but also a multi-instructional strategy. In addition, the Chi-Tzu teachers have to apprehend Master Cheng Yen's aphorisms deeply. 6.There are some limitations of Jing-si-yu Instruction. According to the results, the researcher not only gives the opinions on Taiwanese education but also provides suggestions for future research.
