The main purpose of this thesis is to explore the integration and innovation of FaZang on the Consciousness-only Thoughts. Facing with the argument about the reality or illusion nature of mind, FaZang establish the Three-Nature theory and Perfect (Yuan) teaching of Mind theory based on Huayen School, to solve the argument between reality and illusion nature of mind. There is misunderstanding of FaZang’s Perfect (Yuan) teaching of Mind theory, although this problem is found by some scholars, yet how to interpret his teaching remains an ongoing issue. This study involves how to interpret the thought of Consciousness-only and the Tathāgata-garbha, how to understand the Predecessors' thoughts on this issue. Under this background of Buddhist knowledge, the strategies and attitude of FaZang employs to solve conflicts between different schools of teaching. The attitude of FaZang can be concluded to the integration of the traditional school and innovation of the Consciousness-only Thoughts. FaZang reinterpret the Mind Theory and Three-nature Theory based on Huayen School. The Mind Theory of final teaching is the composition of reality and illusion nature of mind. The teaching of Mind Theory of sudden enlightenment is unspeakable. The Mind Theory of perfect teaching is the blend of reality and illusion nature of mind.The theory of FaZang is different from the theory of India, which is a unique theory of Huayen School.
