This thesis attempts to research and analyze the visual approaches to the transmission of religious messages from Internet, and the context of religious messages communicated in the digital world. It is based on the symbolic system as a religious orientation and is concerned with the relevant problems of the visual elements, religious expression in graphic aspect and the method of transmitting religious message in the key visual elements are discussed in the thirteen case studies. In parallel, the study discusses the similarity and the relationship between reality and virtual reality, culture and society, the visual level of the worldview perspectives. In the academic world about Internet religion in the process of concept formation, Western scholars proposed “Digital Religion”, the concept of discussing related issues, including: ritual, identity, community, authority, authenticity, religion. After long years of research has sketched out in the online world of religion as seen in blueprint. This study is based on this theory, attempts combine the above issues, discuss it here in the thirteen cases capture from the network, its visual elements and related point of view and interaction. The chapters are as follows: The first chapter introduces the research motive, research purpose and method, discusses the basic position. The second chapter of research overview is divided into five sections, the first section discusses the main representative literature of Internet religion in recent years, the second section to clarify the formation of the concept of Internet religion, the third section of the proposed issues and questions, the fourth section of the symbolic system as a religious orientation discussion, the fifth section of the concept of communication and communication ideas and methods. In the third chapter, from the individual facts, each case first describes the description of the website and analyzes the characteristics of the elements that convey the religious message. The thirteen case studies of the individual on the Internet have the principles of their arrangement, first extending from the entity to the religious entity of the network, followed by religious groups that exist only on the Internet, and may not be religious but claimed to be religious cases, and even examples of video games and virtual temples, showing reality and virtual state, where the religious messages conveyed are diverse and brand new. The fourth chapter will discuss the above examples from the reality and virtual, cultural and social, visual level on the world view perspectives, to explore the network of religious communication to convey the visual way, relevance between related elements and symbols. The fifth chapter is summarize the above research results, and put forward possibility development and its limitation.
