For decades, the trend of pluralistic society, the rise of the Internet culture, sub-replacement fertility, aging Buddhist population, and other problems have emerged one after another, which have directly or indirectly had an impact on the College Youth Buddhist Movement. In terms of rooting, management and operation, more complex problems and challenges have been encountered. The rise of College Youth Buddhist Movement in the past is vastly different from the current situation. At present, whether it’s the college Buddhist Society or Youth Buddhist Camp operations, new internal and external bottlenecks are being confronted, which is worthy of further exploration. This paper begins by dealing with the issue of “the rise and fall and turning point of the contemporary College Youth Buddhist Movement in Taiwan”. The four highlights of the research are: sprouting period, flourishing period, declining period, and the background of a turning point gradually revealed. An attempt was made to further explore, observe, and analyze the main impact factors of development in order to compare and understand subsequent situation changes. Qualitative research analysis and quantitative research analysis were adopted in this study. For the qualitative research part, 45 research participants consisting of representative leaders and members of the “Buddhist Society” and “Buddhist Camp”, participant groups. and relevant units took part in participant observation and in-depth interviews. The purpose of this study was to use field interviews to conduct inductive analysis on the early, middle, and recent phases, examine the current situation of the organizational operation of “Buddhist Society” and “Youth Camp”, the connection between the two in operation, and the key factors affecting development. Secondly, targeting the differences among the new generation of university students in terms of their cognitive attitudes towards “society” and “Buddhist Society”, quantitative research analysis was carried out in order to reflect the thoughts and needs of university students towards “Buddhist Society” and “Youth Camp” in real life, show collective care, examine and improve the current situation, bottlenecks, and prospects. The research results are hoped to yield benefits and compare and understand subsequent situation changes, through which the E generation of college youth will be led to Buddha despite today’s diversified societies and the rise of the Internet culture.
