This article, based on Wang Yang Ming's philosophy of Heart and Jon Kabat-Zinn's mindfulness therapy, make a contrastive analysis. Although there are different discussions in the East and the West, there are key similarities and differences. Wang Yang Ming's mind is full of the tough wisdom of life. He was exiled and lived in the Long-Chang. After a thousand turns from death to life, he finally realized the road and revealed that "the heart is the truth, the unity of conscience & action, and the expansion of conscience" Jon Kabat-Zinn developed mindfulness therapy as a result of exposure to Chan-meditation, Which could improve physical and mental health. Yang Ming's "the teaching of conscience-expansion" emphasizes the ontological practice of "correcting its incorrectness and making it right." Jon Kabat-Zinn's mindfulness therapy advocates a return to inner peace and a positive attitude toward the reality of everything as it is. For Wang Yang Ming the Wisdom of life, not only a metaphysical system but a teaching of conscience-expansion, lies in the ontological practice of "from the inside to the outside." Jon Kabat-Zinn's mindfulness thearpy is a horizontal meditation, free from distractions . Although the two have similarities and differences, they can also complement each other throughout ancient and modern time. Conscience-expansion and mindfulness therapy bring us endless momentum, activate our living world, participate in the creation of the virtue of life between heaven and earth, and develop the power of wisdom.
