The main development of folklore religion and social organizations is the traditional temple in 1960, as the social and economic development growth of Taiwan, the statue of god, is not only put in the traditional temple for worship, but also being magnification and placed above the temple as the artwork for display. The location usually chooses the higher terrain and have better views, that become an important landmark in the settlement, and make the believers feel the blessing of the gods more deeply. For example: The Kaiyuan Temple of Xikou Township in Chiayi city was built in 1970, the highest statue of Zheng Cheng Gong in the world that built in 1995, and then the statue of General Wan Li, Gan Hui in 2015. And found out that the statue of god changes with the economic industry and tourism development, the big statue of god on the roof has become a special contemporary temple architectural style. Also, it is not following past traditions ways of construction, the Constructer are completed by different art industries or sculpture studios. How does the Big Divine Sculpture development? Does the appearance of statue of god are related to competition of temples? Does the temple building space affect different operating modes? This research will focus on Big Divine Sculpture of temple architectural, and through the literature review, interview method with craftsman, and field investigation to understand about the relationship of space of the large statue of temple, and discus about the reason of building the larger statue of god in different periods. Then analysis each cases of the investigation, such as 1. Big Divine Sculpture historical background and pattern types. 2. Building material and transfer features. 3. The Architecture spatial pattern and activities of Big Divine Sculpture. In the end to discuss about the meaning of spiritual significance, social function and cultural belief value of Big Divine Sculpture in the settlement.
