This paper takes Creative Hermeneutics as the main approach to research about the idea of Non-Abiding (無住) in The Platform Sutra, taken it as the primary objective to be achieved in the first part this paper. Through the conception obtained from the first part of this paper, interpretative efforts are attempted to understand the ideology and spirit of Ch’an beyond the realization of dharma propagation of Venerable Master Hsing Yun, which formed the content of the second part of this paper. In chapter two, literature analysis is made to present an overview of the versions, epoch, social value and main ideologies in The Platform Sutra, which is the first stage in Creative Hermeneutics methodology to grasp the fundamental idea of the original thinker or text. Chapter three comprises interpretations based on the text Zong Bao Ben (宗寶本) of The Platform Sutra as well as from the evolvement of Ch’an thoughts in the epoch, to get an idea on what did the original thinker intend to say and what could he have implied. In the interpretation context of this paper, Ch’an practices of No-Thought (無念) and No-Form (無相) served as the fundamental yet oblique efforts to be able to attain the stage of Non-Abiding (無住) in one’s living endeavors. Moreover, the idea of Non-Abiding (無住) has transformed from a mind-stage cultivation towards a carefree expression in terms of thought, speech and action of a man in his daily activities. In chapter four and five, Venerable Master Hsing Yun is proposed as the creative hermeneutician who have presented the ideology of Non-Abiding (無住) in The Platform Sutra through his religious realizations and propagation of Humanistics Buddhism by various forms of Buddhist undertakings. By conclusion, the ideology of Non-Abiding (無住) has disclosed the Ch’an spirit in the dharma propagation of Humanistics Buddhism by Venerable Master Hsing Yun while overcoming hardships and intervenes as well as accomplishing innovative and pioneer undertakings in his propagation. Simultaneously, Venerable Master Hsing Yun exemplifies a contemporary and practical interpretation model of Non-Abiding (無住) in The Platform Sutra.
