《華嚴念佛三昧論》對般若、華嚴與念佛法門融會之研究=On the Integration of "Prajñā", Huayan and the Dharmagate of Buddha-Mindfulness--Based on the "Samādhi of Buddha-Mindfulness in the MVBA-sutra"
This thesis is based on Peng Shao-sheng’s “Samādhi of Buddha-Mindfulness in the MVBA-sutra” to explore the fusion of thoughts among the Prajñā, Huayan, and Dharmagate of Buddha-Mindfulness. That including the meaning of “Prajñā” in the thought of Buddha-Mindfulness and Huayan, and the correlation between the thoughts of Huayan and Samādhi of Buddha-Mindfulness. And to understand the possibility of using Prajñā thought and Huayan thought to help the practice of Buddha-Mindfulness. In addition, this article discusses the process of the fusion of Chinese Buddhist denomination thoughts since the Sui and Tang dynasties, and its influence on the Ming and Qing dynasties’ Buddhist thoughts and the Confucian-Buddhist communion thoughts. In order to understand the historical context and evolution of fusion thoughts between Prajñā, Huayan, and Buddha-Mindfulness. The results of this study find that the Chinese Buddhist denomination thoughts are based on “beyond binary opposition, but not inseparable from binary opposition” as the core foundation to develop doctrines and practices from different perspectives, and thus form a fusion of Buddhist denomination thoughts. Among them, the Huayan School’s “non-obstruction of principle and phenomena” and “non-obstruction of phenomena with other phenomena”, which has the characteristics of blends with “principle” and “phenomena”, forming an important basis for the connection between Prajñā thoughts and Buddha-Mindfulness practice. And the five meanings of Buddha-Mindfulness of “Mahāvaipulya Buddhāvataṃsaka Sūtra” in the “Samādhi of Buddha-Mindfulness in the MVBA-sutra” are based on “Prajñā”, which proves the correlation between Huayan’s thoughts and the Samādhi of Buddha-Mindfulness. Therefore, “Prajñā”, Huayan, and Dharmagate of Buddha-Mindfulness are related to each other, and through Prajñā thought and Huayan thought, they can help the understanding and practice of Dharmagate of Buddha-Mindfulness.
