摘要
本論文研究的對象,是按照中國鎮江金山寺水陸儀軌的傳統文化模式,於2018年在加拿大湛山精舍所舉辦的水陸法會現場實況。文化包含了各種知識、信仰、道德、法律、倫理、藝術、習俗,和其他做人所須的能力等都是屬於文化的精髓。中國鎮江金山寺水陸法會儀軌融合了中國文化主流儒、釋、道三教的內涵,是中華民族珍貴的文化遺產的重要組成部分。 本論文研究目的,嘗試藉由水陸法會的田野工作,探索水陸儀軌中國佛教文化遺產的繼承與闡揚。本文研究方法,首先是採用質性研究(qualitative inquiry)的研究途徑,透過蒐集、整理、詮釋中西學術研究成果,運用文獻分析法(document analysis)作為研究水陸法會相關脈絡的資料基礎;其次,以加拿大儀式專家Ronald L. Grimes 所提供的「儀式田野描繪」(Mapping the Field of Ritual)的「參與觀察法」(Participant Observation) 儀式研究方法,進行實地考察水陸法會的人物、空間、時間、動作、聲音語言與器物等面向的文化象徵符碼,來呈現出水陸法會法事儀軌的宗教現象情景。最後,進而是以德國哲學家康德(Immanuel Kant) 的文化哲學(Philosophy of Culture)與中國佛教文化有會通之共同觀點為基礎,從而加以申論水陸儀軌相關之各面向的文化表現形式及其意涵。
This paper will focus on the Cham Shan Temple’s Water and Land Dharma Assembly held in Canada in 2018, which is based on the Jinshan Temple's Water and Land Dharma Liturgy in Zhenjiang city from China. Cultures usually cover diverse aspects from a variety of knowledge, religions, ethics, laws, morals, custom and other kinds of abilities relating to human interactions and activities. The Jinshan Temple's Water and Land Dharma Liturgy from Chinese Zhenjiang city merges traditional ethical mainstream ranging from Confucianism, Buddhism and Taoism, which are the most three valuable cultural heritages from Chinese. This paper will take in to the inheritance and propagation of the Chinese religious cultural heritages specifically on Water and Land Dharma Liturgy by carrying out the field works on Water and Land Dharma assemblies. The research method will first adopt qualitative inquiry, which will apply document analysis based on the data collections, arrangement and analysis between eastern and western researches. After that, field works that will be carried out on the characters, spaces, times, activities, voice codes and implements on Water and Land Dharma ceremonial assemblies, which will evidently carry a number of cultural symbols, will present the religious Water and Land Dharma Liturgy. Secondly, the research method is based on the Participant Observation of Mapping the Field of Ritual from the Canadian ritual expert Ronald L. Grimes. Finally, the research will be based on the viewpoints comprised of Philosophy of Culture from German Philosopher Immanuel Kant and Chinese Buddhist cultures, which will further figure out the different kinds of cultural forms and meanings in Water and Land Dharma Liturgy.
