佛教數位藝術的應用:佛陀「放光」的現代詮釋——以佛陀紀念館光照大千—3D光雕祈福活動為例=The Application of Digital Buddhist Art: A Contemporary Artistic Interpretation of Buddha’s Radiating Lights – Based on Lights of Wisdom 3D Projection Mapping Display in the Buddha Museum
Over thousand years, Buddhist art has been continuously developed. Interestingly, Buddhist art’s form represents the culture of that period. A new history of Buddhist art has been made by the Fo Guang Shan Buddha Museum to add the art of 3D Projection Mapping Display as part of their New Year Festival of Light and Peace program. This thesis aims to discuss how 3D Projection Mapping Display in the Buddha Museum can be interpreted as Buddha’s Radiating Lights in Digital Buddhist Art. Furthermore, to find out the purpose and role of the 3D Projection Mapping Display in the Dharma propagation. This thesis will conduct an online survey; an in-depth interview; theme analysis; and document analysis on Buddha’s Radiating Lights text. Based on the results, Digital Buddhist Art is welcome by the visitors to the Buddha Museum. 3D Projection Mapping Display has given the Buddha Museum a big canvas for Digital Buddhist Art has integrated educational Buddhist information. When the Buddha preaches the Dharma, he radiates lights from different parts of the body, which is known as a form of skillful means. As a contemporary artistic interpretation of the Buddha’s Radiating Lights, not only does the 3D Projection Mapping Display in the Buddha Museum carry educational purposes but aesthetic values.
