With the development of Internet technology, binge-watching on streaming media has become one of the common entertainment activities nowadays. This study is based on Durkheim's religious perspectives to explore the power between streaming media and audience. The research uses the methods of participant observation and semi-structured interview of 24 binge-watcher on Netflix, so as to understand the context of binge-watching and the use of streaming media. The results of the study found that audience in streaming media seems to have the initiative to choose, but the power is actually divided between the recommendation system and the community.
