This thesis‘A Study of the Thoughts in Laṅkāvātarasūtra based on a vijnāna-vāda, tathāgata-garbha, gotra’aims to the interaction of Tathāgata-garbha and Yogacāra school, the writer used the methods of induction, contrasting between translations, interpretation and analysis to confer the “Time of completion”,“ Interpretation of the thought”and “Determination of gotra ”in Laṅkāvātara Sūtra. In the context of discussion, this article severally from the subject of “Vijñāna-vāda”, “Interpretation of Tathāgata-garbha ”, “aniyataikatara-gotra and agotra” to re-construct the knowledge of the thought in Laṅkāvātara Sūtra. We would paragraph to four chapters and sections in the following article: Chapter One, Introduction As a Sūtra, Laṅkāvātara belones to one of the Yogacāra School, but there still exist the concept of“dharmakaya,prakṛtiviśuddhi, tathāgata-garbha”in the text. Therefore this thesis approach to the problem from the subject of “Time of completion”, “ Interpretation of the thought” and “Determination of gotra ”. Chapter Two, Time of completion about Laṅkāvātara Sūtra-in approach of “Vijnana-vadin” This chapter discuss the time relation between Laṅkāvātara Sūtra and Vasubandhu, and focus on “Form of pariṇāma”,“Development of citta-mano-vijñāna”and “Metaphor of sea and wave”to establish a knowledge in “Vijñāna-vāda”. Chapter Three, Thought’s attribution about Laṅkāvātara Sūtra -in approach of “Interpretation of Tathāgata-garbha ” This chapter attend to the question of thought’s attribution, the writer’s research by means of the sentence‘tathāgatagarbho mahāmate kuśalākuśalahetu’to explan the meaning of Tathāgata-garbh should be interpreted in “Vikalpa”or “Vijñāna” . If that sentence would not be interpreted by “Vikalpa or Vijñāna”,the concept will not accordance with its “Vijñāna-vadin” Chapter Four, Divergence of gotra about Laṅkāvātara Sūtra -in approach of “aniyataikatara-gotra and agotra” The definition of gotra in Yogacāra School not only described as bīja, but also Fǎxiàng-zōng(法相宗)considered the Śrāvakayānābhisamayagotra, Pratyekabuddhayānābhisamayagotra and Agotra were unable to attain nirvana. According to the Divergence of gotra in Laṅkāvātara Sūtra, we figure out the meaning of agotra has another sence of tīrthaka, that makes the Divergence of gotra in this śutra will not become a Determinism. As a result, The best strategy to understand the Laṅkāvātara Sūtra in terms of the interaction of the thoughts is Yogacāra School.
