Mindfulness is a practice that can enhance learners’ attention and meditation, it has been proved to having benefit to release stress and depression, and has been helpful for both patient and healthy people, it is positive correspondent with healthy condition. Daily mindfulness is important for individual to continuous mindfulness after learning courses. However, there is lack of quantized indexes used on relative studies. Heart rate variability (HRV) is an important method to evaluate the function of automatic nerves system. Higher HRV and enhanced automatic nerves system regulation function are also correlated with health. Studying mindfulness with HRV can provide us quantized evaluation metrics. In this study, the effects of daily mindfulness on attention, medication and HRV were explored to find out the useful HRV metrics for health evaluation and possible relationship between the mindfulness and HRV. We use quantitative physiological values retrieved from wearable devices such as attention, meditation, time domain and frequency domain matrices of HRV, select a series of paired data pre and on mindfulness via wearable devices in our study. The results show that as compared to pre-mindfulness practices, attention and meditation increase significantly after mindfulness practices; as compared with those biomarkers pre and on mindfulness, for time domain HRV, SDNNi is significantly increased, SDNN, SDANN, HRVTi and TINN are significantly decreased, the changes of NN50, pNN50, SDSD, RMSSD are without statistically significant; for frequency domain HRV, HF are significantly increased, LF and LF/HF are significantly decreased. We can make conclusions that daily mindfulness can increase attention and medication, and daily mindfulness can have impacts on HRV matrices with increasing SDNNi and HF, de-creasing SDNN, SDANN, HRVti, TINN, LF and LF/HF. So for further studies of mindfulness and health care, we can use these HRV metrics as useful indexes.
