Given the confusion and the wrong region on the definition of Gongde,the meaning of Gongde is presented in the dissertation. This word is blessedwith rich and deep buddhist connotation, including four meanings that ischaracteristic, Goodwill&Welldoing, virtue, Benefit&fortune. Because ofthe lack of the research on the thought of Buddhist Gongde at home andabroad, type and peculiarities of Buddhist Gongde is pointed out, intension,development and the important position of the thought of Buddhist Gongde issummarized. Uighur Buddhist texts consist of Uighur Original&DepartmentBuddhist texts, Uighur Mahayana Buddhist texts, Uighur Tantric Buddhistscriptures and other Uighur Buddhist text. The dissertation is focused ontracing above Uighur Buddhist texts, along with Uighur Buddhistinscriptions, fragments delivering desire and so on, systemically analyzingspecific content of the thought of Uighur Buddhist Gongde which is dividedinto good and evil view, benefits view, virtue view and theory of life,elaborating its theoretical principle&practical characteristics.Thedissertation discusses its historical influences on Uighur ethic though sincethe Middle Ages, and shows what splendid classical art treasures had beencreated which are presented in the aspect of Grottoes&Grotto paintings. Atlast, this dissertation is expected to provide the theory and the practice aspectinspiration function to current social value judgment, the way of looking atbenefits view, together with moral construction.
