This dissertation topic is “Research on the Propagation of Buddhist Teachings – Wat Phra DhammakAya Temple as a case study.” Using documentary research and in-depth interview, I collected and summarized the data. Taking Wat Phra Dhammakaya as a case study, this research traces the study back to the propagation during Buddha’s time, and then compares it to the propagation of Wat Phra Dhammakaya nowadays. By the research, we found that Wat Phra Dhammakaya starting from small groups who have the same determination towards the same goal is to accumulate the perfections and propagate Buddhism afar. Since then, the temple was constructed to serve the moral training and activities, training the virtuous person’s service as it become widespread throughout Thailand. Adapting the propagation techniques which are compatible with the modern society, by integrating meditation with the Dhamma teachings enables trainees to be equipped with basic moral conduct, which includes discipline, respect and endurance. In this way, people could practically apply the teachings in daily life. Moreover, by accentuating people’s clear aims of life, the participants who have come to learn meditation has been increasing in great numbers. The activities of Wat Phra Dhammakaya solve many social and youth problems with the cooperation of three main institutions of Thai society – families, temples and schools. The activities includes the V-Star Project, Moral Ethics Contest, Kalyanamitta House Project, Kalyanamitta Temple, Nationwide Alms-giving Project, nationwide ordination of monks, Upasika Kaew training program for ladies, etc. Using the versatile combinations of advanced technology such as computerized connection, internet access, and televised media via satellite, this reinforces the Buddhist propagation growth rapidly and systematically.
