From the view of comparative culture, the conflict of Agni in Chinese Buddhism is basically caused by the cultural differences between Chinese earth worship and India fire worship. But how these differences are and how they conjoin to become a Chinese Buddhism? In order to find out all these questions, we have to compare the details in Chinese five elements theory whcih represent the earth worship and Agni of Veda culture which is the main idea of India fire worship. The traditional Chinese culture elements such as the eight trigrams, five elements theory have beed forced to put in the Buddhism which came from India and many of the India Veda culture origin have been deleted to become a Chinese Buddhism. That is the process of how Agni been placed in Chinese Buddhism Douments. But the India Veda culture is all related with the fire worship. This could mislead the knowledge of Agnie by one single Chinese character of fire. Agni is an icon of India fire worship which is not the same with the fire in Chinese five elements.Agni is the philosophy of Brahmanism and also the religion of fire sacrifice. It has been rationally transformed into Buddhsim as a new religion than came into China. In order to set up the Chinese Buddhism, the fire in Chinese five elements and the fire spirits were added and replace Agni, some of the five elements theory has been modified to match up with the commandment in Buddhism. Through the philology approach and the dialect applied, we can easily interpret the conflict of Agni in Chinese Buddhism.
