A special book for lexicon research, it is the fundamental description and study of lexicon for that period. The thesis is base on lexicon of medieval Buddhist Scriptures (Eastern Han, Wei, Jin and the Northern and Southern Dynasties). The medieval Buddhist Scriptures are the basic corpus, psychological verb is the subject of the research, conducting by the semantic field of vocabulary system, then combines with contemporaneous documents to describe and study the relationships of sememes in the semantic field. And generalize the characteristic of word meanings of the lexical entry, also discuss some word meanings of the lexical entry problems. From the basis of the study of emotion-psychology verb of medieval Buddhist Scriptures, using medieval Buddhist Scriptures as material to analyze emotion- psychology verb, this thesis discovered five points: 1. Bi-directional movement of basic vocabularies between Buddhist Scriptures and Chinese language. 2. The different grammatical meanings in the semantic field. 3. By the research of semantic filed could understand the alternation of vocabulary of dynastic history. 4. Reflection of the phenomenon of disyllablization of vocabulary and causative construction in medieval Chinese language. 5. This thesis helps to clarify the meaning of color between vocabulary of Buddhist Scriptures and medieval Chinese document vocabulary. The structures and chapters of the thesis would be as following: Chapter 1 is introduction which this part includes motive and the goal, roughly description for the past study, range, explanation of corpus using, method and steps of this thesis. Chapter 2 describes the definition of "Emotion-psychology verb", semantic field theory, structure of the research, classification of positive and negative semantic filed of Medieval Buddhist Scriptures. Chapter 3 analysis of positive semantic field of emotion-psychology verb of Medieval Buddhist Scriptures. First three categories of secondary semantic field are: "xiyue" (喜悅), "zunjing"(尊敬), "xiai"(喜愛), and discussion on morphology form of each one by different "word cluster". Chapter 4 analysis of negative semantic field of emotion-psychology verb of Medieval Buddhist Scriptures. First four categories of secondary semantic field are: "fennu" (憤怒), "yuanhen" (怨恨), "jinghaijupa" (驚駭懼怕), "youku" (憂苦), and discussion on morphology form of each one by different "word cluster". Chapter 5 base on the above-mentioned chapters to discuss problems relative with the vocabulary of medieval Buddhist Scriptures, including: the common words issues of semantic field of "xiyue" (喜悅) and "xiai" (喜愛). Also issues about disyllablization, parallel coordinate structure and inverse morphemes word pairs. From the point of view of semantic field to observe the evolution of emotion-psychology verb of medieval Buddhist Scriptures. Chapter 6 is the conclusion of previous chapters, point out the characters of emotion-psychology verb of medieval Buddhist Scriptures and directions for future research.
