This study aims to understand the impact of job changes among helping professionals during the COVID-19 pandemic on turnover intentions and mental health. In addition, coping strategies, including supportive, re-evaluative, controlling, and emotional factors, were utilized as moderator variables to investigate whether they could account for variations in the relationships among job changes, turnover intention, and mental health. The participants in this study were mental health professionals, including hospital healthcare workers, public health personnel, social workers, and school counselors. The questionnaire comprised four sections: Job Changes, Coping Strategies, Turnover Intention, and Physical Health. A total of 207 effective samples’ data were collected through an online survey for quantitative analysis. The findings indicated that job changes among helping professionals during the pandemic were associated with an increase in turnover intention. The mental and physical health of these professionals decreased due to job changes during the pandemic. Coping strategies were unable to moderate the impact of job changes on turnover intentions. Also, coping strategies did not moderate the impact of job changes on mental health. In conclusion, this study provides relevant recommendations for future research based on the results.
