證嚴上人此生應化人間,開創一條覺悟的道路——慈濟人間菩薩道。「為佛教,為眾生」,標示出上人的核心信念;「以佛心為己心,以師志為己志」標示出慈濟人的核心信念,本論文以慈濟人的「佛心師志」來展開論述。上人是累生累世與眾生結下的因緣,她與弟子有許多感通事蹟,並組織訓練其為一名慈濟志工,學習《法華經》三軌法弘法利生。 慈濟人身體力行踐行佛法,即是慈濟人行入大藏經。慈濟人以行經模式闡釋經典教義,彰顯出慈濟人的主體。慈濟人編寫自己的人生藏經,這就是當代大藏經的再詮釋、再創造。 本論文列有70多位慈濟人物,當中以文獻收集、參與觀察、田野訪談、文本詮釋方法進行,得到結果是:「慈濟大藏經」的文本是實踐,展現的是心治,由學而覺,轉迷為悟,轉染成淨,彰顯出人間菩薩的實踐力;實踐的背後是慈濟人從「行入」貫通「理入」,從「行善」到「行道」,最後到「行經」。慈濟人身體踐行圓滿諸法實相的道理,故「入理」也是「入法」,是當代大藏經的意涵。 另外亦發現,證嚴上人是應慈濟人而來人間,是慈濟人心目中應化的佛陀。這是因為師徒的因緣來自於無量數劫以前,是領導者跟追隨者結下的師徒情誼,是弟子對師父生生世世都要追隨——「佛心師志」的約定,證明佛法真理永恆流傳,是不斷種累積的一種永續性。 In this present life, Ven. Cheng Yen manifested on earth and created a path to enlightenment, Tzu Chi’s approach to the Human Realm Bodhisattva Path. “For Buddhism and all sentient beings” is the core value of Ven. Cheng Yen; “taking Buddha’s compassion and the commitment of the venerable master as our own” is the core value of Tzu Chi Volunteers, and this study discusses the latter. Throughout countless lives, Ven. Cheng Yen has formed bonds with all sentient beings, and the bonds with her disciples were so strong that she was able to gather and train them to become Tzu Chi Volunteers to help others via the three principles of the Lotus Sutra. By implementing the teachings of Buddha, Tzu Chi Volunteers have put Tzu Chi’s Tripitaka into practice, and during their practices, Tzu Chi Volunteers rewrite their life stories. This is the reinterpretation and recreation of the Chinese Tripitaka. This study has listed over 70 Tzu Chi Volunteers, collected data via literature collection, observation and participation, field interview, and text interpretation, and came to the conclusion that the texts of Tzu Chi’s Tripitaka are the implementation of the human realm bodhisattva path, allowing all sentient beings to learn wisdom from hands-on experiences, leading them to awaken from the illusions of this world and ultimately reach enlightenment. The operation principle behind the implementation is that the Tzu Chi Volunteers link theory through practice, starting with charity, maintaining righteousness, and ending with putting the teachings in the sutras into practice. And since all things in this world and the ultimate truth are one and the same, when Tzu Chi Volunteers link theory through practice, they are also connecting with dharma. This is the meaning of the contemporary Tripitaka. The study has also found that Tzu Chi Volunteers are the reason why Ven. Cheng Yen manifested on earth as they had formed an unbreakable master-disciple bond that transcended through space-time in their previous lives and the disciples had also vowed to follow her for all eternity. To all Tzu Chi Volunteers, Ven. Cheng Yen is the manifesting Buddha who came for them. The commitment of “taking Buddha’s compassion and master’s commitment as our own” is living proof of the eternal circulation of dharma, a constantly accumulating sustainability.
