儒釋性論之辯:以羅欽順闢佛「以覺為性」為中心=Debate on the Nature Theory of Confucianism and Buddhism - Based on the Perspective of Confucianist Luo Qinshun Criticizing Buddhism "Consciousness is Nature"
Since Buddhism was introduced into China, Confucianism and Buddhism have been competing, communicating and integrating. The mind-nature theory is an important field of interaction and debate between Confucianism and Buddhism. There have been many discussions on the mind nature theory of Confucianism and Buddhism and its interaction, similarities and differences, but there are few studies based on the perspective of Confucianism criticizing Buddhism. In particular, there is a lack of in-depth research on the proposition of "consciousness is nature" summarized by the Confucians in the Song and Ming Dynasties. However, this proposition not only condenses the Confucians' thinking on the differences between Confucianism and Buddhism, but also clearly highlights the fundamental distinction between Confucianism and Buddhism. The study will help to better understand the connotation, similarities and differences and limitations of Confucianism and Buddhism, and inspire more profound thinking on human nature.
