Tejaprabhā Buddha belief (熾盛光佛信仰) was a very popular Buddhist method in the Tang and Song Dynasties. During the Kaiyuan period of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, the Indian Vajrayana Tantra method was rapidly integrated into the Tang Dynasty society with the translation activities of the three great monks of Kaiyuan. Among them, “luminous uṣṇīṣa of the Buddha”(熾盛光佛頂)is the deity practiced by the "Tejaprabhā method"(熾盛光法). This practice continued to prevail in the Tang, Song, Yuan and Ming dynasties for hundreds of years.First introduce its popularity and the scriptures and rituals it is based on. In the revival movement of Zhaosong Tiantai (趙宋天台)in the Song Dynasty, Tiantai monk Zunshi (遵式; 964–1032) made the first confession ritual-"Chisheng Guang Daochang Niansong Yi " (熾盛光道場念誦儀) basic on the sutra of "Tejaprabhā method" .It incorporates the teachings of Tiantai sect Maha samatha and the practice of attaining Buddhahood in the three secrets of esoteric Buddhism, pursue the radiant wisdom of illuminating the darkness through self-reliance is different from the other way of seeking blessings from the outside help.He not only requires himself to be respectful and careful, but also has a bodhisattva spirit that cares about all sentient beings, which is very special.Zunshi's spirit of entering the world are worth learning.
