The Grand Guanyin pavilion Xing-ji temple of Tainan is the most characteristic and representative temple in Taiwan. First, it was built in the late Ming and early Ching dynasties (1661~1683), and was the third class historic heritage approved by Ministry of Interior. Second, there are two gods in one temple, one is Guanyin Buddha, and the other is Baosheng Dadi. Third, there are also two faith in one temple, one is Taoism, and the other is Buddhism. These two faith were managed by one organization, and it became a unique situation in Taiwan. Fourth, due to geographical conditions, governors and soldiers prayed for safety in this temple. The above-mentioned facts were main motivation of author to do this research. The author is also one director of this temple, and it made this research easily to complete. The reasons of the temple become historic and big, not only relying on signs, but also on effective management. These will gain believers’ confidence and recognition. Having activities is the only way to make the temple active. To discuss these is also the main topic of this research. The organization of the temple usually is divided into 2 departments: management and worship , and the Grand Guanyin pavilion Xing-ji temple also had the same way. To analyze how organization handle the temple, there were different phases of organization of the temple discussed in this research, including Ching dynasty, Meiji period, and nowadays. But it was a pity that historic data are so few that we need to find more information from steles, tablets and couplets. Due to complete and reliable data, it is easy to understand present management of organization. According to author’s participation of the temple’s operation, it would be easily understood that the temple had many advantages, such as having good leaders, right aspects of management, open mind, healthy finance, and well team collaboration. Although this temple is old, it also attractes new members to have more potential of development. The temple is the place where believers and gods can communicate each other. To meet believers’ need, there were many activities held in this temple. Due to lack of historic data of activities, the discussion of this research is focused on present activities. Because there were Taoism and Buddhism in this temple, the amount of gods were more times than others. So it had many activities throughout the year, such as Pacifying Taisui, and lighting lanterns.
