Traditional Chinese ethics, originating from ancient times, are comprehensive and profound in spirit. During the long course of history, they have been playing a crucial part in solidifying all the peoples, dominating the Chinese ethical life, coordinating China’s social orders, facilitating the nation’s prosperity and progress and so forth. Still prevailing in current days, their role in people’s thoughts, conducts as well as social development remains conspicuously significant. What merits most attention among all the traditional ethics is that of Pre-Qin, the fountainhead of traditional Chinese culture. Similar to the contemporary philosophies which are colorful and diversified, this school has laid solid foundation for the development of traditional Chinese culture and ethics thought, and even casts influences on the borrowed Buddhist ethics thought to different extents in its evolving process. Therefore,the study of the ethics during this period serves as an indispensable bridge for understanding the evolution of Chinese traditional culture and ethical thoughts. In addition, holding the spirit of transcending and fraternity, the Pre-Qin ethics can also form the theoretic basis for the current ethics construction and contemporary human social fraternity. Thus, this thesis weighs heavily with respect to both theory and reality. This article includes six parts. The prelead generally summarizes the main connotation of Pre -Qin’s ethics and it’s historical background .According to it the reader can get a general understanding of Pre-Qin’s ethics from the prelead. In the first Part of this article the auther expounds Pre-Qin’s social development `condition on the basic of which the developing course of Pre-Qin’s ethics is under further and thorough discussion. The second Part is the essential part of the whole article. It mainly introduces different school’s ethics respectively. They are Confucianism, Monism , Taoism, and Legalism. The third Part researches on comparison among different schools’ ethics ,by which a whole cognition on the connotation of Pre -Qin’s ideology can be attained . In the forth Part , the author gives Pre-Qin’s ideology a whole evaluation which includes two facets: it’s positive influence an it’s historical limitation. According to this evaluation some clue of Pre-Qin’s ethics’ orientation can be get. In the fifth Part, the author pursue a proper combination between the systematic and deeply discussion on Pre-Qin’ ethics and modern China’s ethics condition as well as the common ethics and practical problem under globalization. Therefore, modern society can get charter from Pre-Qin’s ideology.
