Due to globalization, many academic disciplines in both humanities and natural science are attempting to explore or connect a wide range of problems from transcultural or intercultural perspectives. In order to put the intercultural concept into practice, we need to consider questions concerning the preconditions and structures of interculturality. The main objective of this paper is to investigate the meaning of "going beyond" or " inter-connecting" philosophical concepts that are derived from different philosophical cultures. This paper will inquire into theories developed by German intercultural philosophers, such as Heinz Kimmerle, Ram Adhar Mall, Elmar Holenstein and Franz Martin Wimmer, illuminate their criticism of the Eurocentric character of Western philosophy and discuss the influence of colonialism with regards to the historical development of philosophy. This paper will also reflect the orientation of philosophy from an intercultural perspective and explore how intercultural philosophy could systematically, with the help of concepts like 'orthafte Ortlosigkeit' and 'polylogues,' discuss and reconstruct general philosophical question while simultaneously integrating the differences between philosophical cultures and traditions.
