《中論頌‧觀縛解品》「生死與涅槃」的關係：以吉藏《中觀論疏》與宗喀巴《正理海》注釋為考察=The relationship between saṃsāra and nirvāṇa in Mūlamadhyamaka-kārikā-Bandhanamoksa-parīkṣā : An investigation based on Jizang’s Zhongguan lun shu and Tshongkhapa’s Ocean of Reasoning
This paper emphasizes on the discussion of interpretation between Jizang’s Zhongguan lun shu and Tshongkhapa’s Ocean of Reasoning, the Chapter of Examination of Bondage, particularly on the relationship between the concept of saṃsāra and nirvāṇa in the commentary of the final verse. First, I compared the main interpretations of the two texts and its commentary of the original text. Second, by comparing the relationship between saṃsāra and nirvāṇa with regards to the three natures and valid proof, examined the reasons behind the differences of interpretations of the two texts as well as the logic of the relationship between saṃsāra and nirvāṇa. Through the comparison of Chinese and Tibetan commentaries, we understand the interpretation of the two traditions -- the Sanlun School of China and Gelug Sect of Tibetan over MMK to a greater extend, and with such help, we are able to explore more undiscovered problems to be further discussed in the academic research of Madhyamaka.
