經懺佈教:建構以生死關懷為核心之生命教育實踐場域— 一位佛教行者之實踐與省思=Preaching through Sutra Chanting: To Build a Pratical Field for Life Education Based on the Core of Life – and - death Concern--a Practice and Reflection from a Buddhist
The most important thing in life is death. And each country, race, and even religious belief has its own attitude to life and life etiquette. Buddhists have always been aware of that the body is a source of pain, ultimately empty, and the five skandhas has no self. Therefore, they would accept plain and brief Buddhist ritual to be theirs or their relatives’ life etiquette. On the contrary, average people are afraid of “teachings and virtues of forebears”. They still have great concerns and think highly of their “terminal” biggest thing. So, some indicative characters to strengthen the meaning are needed. In Taiwan, Buddhist ritual guidelines teach people, provide ways of transformation and raise of things to a higher level from palliative care to funeral and burial. In the progress of life etiquette, a scriptural repentance ritual is not only the preaching beginning of Buddhist life education, but also the best moment to do life-and –death solicitude. In addition, both solemn mandala altars and Buddhist monks’ solicitude and initiator speaking could help the livings release their minds and understand the meaning of sutra recitation, penitential rite, and deliverance. Moreover, it is not only the actual function and effect of Buddhist life-and-death solicitude or education of a “scriptural repentance ritual”, but also a practice field territory of helping the Buddhist monks themselves and others. In summary, this article is about the actual religious experiences of the writer, meant to prove the Buddhist texts, and to provide some inspirations and references of the scriptural repentance cultural.
