Abstract | Li royal family of Tang Dynasty greeted and enshrined the finger bone of Sakyamuni Buddha for the last time in the year of Xian Tong. The Mandala world of enshrining the finger bone of Buddha was completed at the underway palace of FaMeng Temple, which marks the development of the Mi Branch of Buddharism and Tang Culture to its full potential. The unearthed gilded Buddha supporting a box is made to consecrate. This discovery is important for the research of China Buddharism and archeology of Tang Dynasty, which opens a mysterious door to a long lost culture and shows the real meaning of Buddhist rites performed in FaMeng Temple. |
