| Abstract | 蒙元王室選擇藏傳佛教信仰與藏傳佛教在中國西部地區具有廣泛影響是密切相關的，同時也是蒙、藏民族雙方關係互動以及藏傳佛教密法與其社會文化相適應的結果。蒙元統治者與藏傳佛教之間存在著多層面關係，西夏境內藏傳佛教的興盛、藏傳佛教界對蒙古王室的積極傳教及藏傳佛教密法的特色等對蒙元統治者選擇藏傳佛教信仰具有重要影響。
Yuan Dynasty chose Tibetan Buddhism thanks to the following causes: widely-spread influence of Tibetan Buddhism in Northwest China, interaction between Mongolians and Tibetans, Tibetan Buddhism conforming to society and culture of that time, close relationship between Mongolian rulers and Tibetan Buddhists, prosperity of Tibetan Buddhism in West Xia, Tibetan Buddhists' active missionary work to the Mongolian royals, and the characteristics of Tibetan Buddhism. |
