Abstract巴利〈念處經〉的禪修方法可以簡要地說為:首先純粹地注意、覺察當下自身的身體及心理現象的生滅變化,進而觀察自身以外的心、物變化過程。四念處中,身念處被給與最詳細的說明,應該是此禪法最根本而重要的部分;身念處的三項練習與受、心念處具有必須在日常生活中持續被修習的特色。法念處由於能如實知見五蘊及四聖諦,因而是更進階的禪修法。
