Abstract

在敦煌、吐魯番出土的回鶻文文獻中，有一定數量的佛傳故事，講述了釋迦牟尼的生平事穏。不過，佛經裏的佛傳，已不是釋迦牟尼真實的生平事穏，而是經過修飾加工後含有濃厚神秘色彩的宗教傳說。今天所知的回鶻文佛傳故事為數不多，其中以《佛所行讚》存寫本數量最多，有二十餘件，此外尚有《摩尼傳》（內容講釋迦牟尼生平事穏）、《方廣大莊嚴經》（？）、《彌勒會見記》（其中有一定數量的佛祖釋迦牟尼的生平事穏及與佛傳故事相關的內容）、《佛陀傳》及其它一些故事殘片。其中以吐魯番交河故城出土編號為Mainz 131（T II Y 37）的回鶻文《佛陀傳》寫本殘片保存較為完好而且內容較有特色，故本文即以此文獻為例來探討回鶻文佛傳故事的基本特色。
通過對上述回鶻文寫本的轉寫與譯釋，可以看出，該《佛陀傳》寫本殘卷講述的是釋迦牟尼為太子時逾城出家的故事。
從殘卷看，由於太子夜裏做了五個不同的大夢，這些夢可以看作他將來能夠成佛得道的預兆。但文獻對這些大夢的描述既不詳盡，也不統一連貫。在佛教典籍中，有不少文獻都提到此夢，如漢文本《方廣大莊嚴經》、《根本說一切有部毗奈耶破僧事》、梵文本《大事（Mahāvastu）》和巴利文本《增一阿含經（A?guttara Nikāya）》中也都有關於此夢的記載，但回鶻文本與漢文本之間的差異還是比較大的。說明該回鶻文《佛陀傳》並非某一佛典的譯本，應為一部在參考眾多文獻之基礎上而形成的改編本。這一現象表明，回鶻人在接受印度佛傳故事時，常會根據自己的理解與興趣對佛典進行取捨與改編，甚至還有創作的情事。

Abstruct:
Several Uighur fragments have been discovered at Yarkhoto, Qo?o, Hami that recount the Buddha’s life, and in particular explicate the teaching of dependent origination. These have been identified by F. W. K. Müller, W. Radloff, J. P. Laut and Peter Zieme as Uighur versions of the Chinese Lalitavistara Sūtra, A?vaghosa’s Buddacarita and the Tocharian Maitrisimit. This paper gives a detailed study of the Turpan fragment Mainz 131 (T II Y 37), “Buddha’s Biography,” which is held in the Turfansammlung of Berlin-Brandenburgische Akademie der Wissenschaften. This fragment describes the life of the Buddha, specifically concerning the Buddha’s “five great dreams” on the night of his enlightenment. Comparing it with a number of Chinese versions, it is apparent that the order of events and the characters in the Uighur version do not correspond to any of the Chinese versions.
