Abstract | The purpose of this thesis is to study the method of meditation practice in Vivek Asom Meditation Centre which is one of the most popular centres in Thailand.
This research aims at examining the technique of meditation teaching in Tripitaka and commentaries by refering the Four Foundations of mindfulness in the Mahasatipattanasutta as main source. In addition, further explanation from commentaries and scriptures had been made to this study. There after the study of the meditation method practiced in Vivek Asom Meditation Centre was recorded following the process starting the study from the pre-duties, method of teaching and system randoming of teaching stategies. The three techniques of meditation practice, namely; walking, sitting and being mindfulness of the present phenomena of all sensations. Meditation reports of meditators are included as important part of the process.
From the study, it is found that Vivek Asom Meditation Centre has managed meditation teaching in very good system and in accordance with the Tipitaka and commentaries suitable to be good model. |
