| Abstract | 關中長安是印度佛教經西域傳入漢地首先到達地區,以後又是中國佛教發展史上的鼎盛地區,這和關中長安特殊的政治地位及佛教本身發展、傳播方式有著密切的關係。凈土,即天堂,是來世信仰的一種具體表現。而西方凈土的主題是“往生”彼岸世界的觀念,是一種臨終關懷。本文通過對關中西方凈土圖像的考察發現:關中的唐代佛教造像多是表現西方極樂凈土人物景觀畫面,它是西方凈土信仰的核心,如彬縣大佛寺阿彌陀佛和身邊的觀音、勢至脅侍菩薩三組合,看似簡單的造像組合,卻凝聚了西方極樂凈土世界的種種莊嚴,它是充滿光明、超越生死、安樂、富饒、覺悟、永恒的體現,並召感三世十方諸佛往生西方國土,來完成接引眾生往生西方凈土的使命。但西方凈土並沒有脫離現實,而是立足於世間,如阿彌陀佛具有無量、無限的光明,西方凈土中充滿奇珍異寶、寶樹成行、八功德水和無數不斷化生的蓮花,甚至還有日、月的長恒不變的人間天堂。以至成為隋末唐初時期佛教終極信仰。正是西方凈土信仰的強大,導致藥師經典的編撰者是否擁有信徒缺乏信心,借鑒西方凈土信仰的一些成份,相互融合,在圖像表現上提倡往生...
Chang’an area of Guanzhong plain once was the first place for receiving Indian Buddhism that was introduced into the region where the Han nationality lived through the Western Regions and later, the Guanzhong plain had been the place where the Buddhism was prosperous in history.
