| Abstract | 現代科學與佛教之間存在多維度、多層次的對話通道,可以實現彼此間“互容”、“互補”的關系。20世紀著名佛學家太虛對佛學與科學的融通,正是這樣肇示了佛教與科學新聯系的建立。由於佛教特有的理論資源和宗教傳統,佛教與科學的關系在文化性質上具有不同於其他宗教與科學關系的特殊性。佛教與科學關系的特殊性說明,宗教與科學的關系不但與宗教與科學各自的演化階段以及整體的社會文化格局有關,而且還有賴於對特定宗教的文化蘊涵及其與科學特殊關系的洞察與詮釋,這其中亦包括宗教思想家的解讀視角。
The famous Buddhist scholar Tai Xu's comprehensive study of Buddhism and science in the previous century initiated a new connection of them. Tai Xu's discussion indicated that there is a passage for modern science and Buddhism to converse each other in multi-dimensions and at multi-levels, and that a tolerant and compensatory relationship between them can be achieved. Because Buddhism has its own theory resource and religious tradition, the relation between Buddhism and science is an unusual one differed from other religion and science relations. And the understanding of this special relation can deepen the study of the relationship between religion and science. Tai Xu's discussion showd that the relationship of religion and science not only depends on the evolvement stage of religion and science and the whole social and cultural situation of the stage, but also bears on the cultural content of a specific religion and the penetration into and explanation of the special relation of this religion and science, In addition, religionist's interpretation text has its irreplaceable effect in opening out the original meaning of religion.
