To discuss the universality and localization of religions from the sinologization of Indian Buddhism and the Worldwide spreading of sinologized Buddhism is very significant for the discussion about the development of Christianity in China in present globalization era. This paper takes the sinologization of Indian Buddhism as point of view, emphatically explores the questions of three aspects: (1) from the various problems evoked by the mutural collision between foreign religion and indigenous culture to review the process of sinologization of Buddhism and its wide spread and development in China. (2) to explore how sinologized Buddhism adhered to the basic belief and doctrine of Buddhism, and combined with Chinese traditional culture, represented Chinese character, therefore achieved successful transmission and development in China. (3) to explore the question of ecumanicalization and localization, and held that in the process of transmission and development of Christianity in China,it must treat the relation with Chinese society and culture very well, especially it must accommodate itself to socialist society.
