Abstract | 宋代儒士對佛教的認知、理解和評價,在佛教內部發生著一種積極的效應,這種積極的效應表現為:佛教界對自身性能獨特性的論證、對自身教義與儒學義理相似性的尋找、對自身輔助地位的確論,從而實現著自我調適;對佛教空幻三界、出家離世、摒棄倫理、禁欲戒律等的辯護性而又遷就儒學的詮釋,從而轉換著自身特質;對無序發展狀況、鄙視佛經文字、講道詭異怪誕、離物求道方式等進行檢討,從而建立起自我規範。如是,宋代儒士佛教觀對佛教發生了一種值得學界關注的、持續的、積極的效應。
In the Song Dynasty, the Confucian scholars' cognition, comprehension and evaluation of Buddhism produced three positive effects on Buddhism. Firstly, Buddhism adapted itself by arguing its peculiars in function, searching for similarity between Buddhist doctrines and Confucian principles and establishing its adaptive position to Confucianism. Secondly, according to Confucian interpretation, Buddhism transforms its characters by explaining its doctrines such as "Konghuan Sanjie" (Void of Three Circles), becoming a monk and departing from the world, and discarding ethics and forbidding desires. Thirdly, Buddhism set up its principles by reviewing it short comings such as the situation of out-of-order development, looking down upon words of Buddhist literature, absurd and odd preaching and seeking for Tao by leaving actual existence. Therefore, the Confucian scholars’ cognition, comprehension and evaluation of Buddhism of the Song Dynasty produced the poorly known but lasting and positive effects on Buddhism. |
