Abstract | The article focuses on the life and works of Ngawang Gyentsen-la, a lifelong nun and one of the close disciples of the great Shuksip Jétsun Rinpoché. She was an inspiring force in the re-establishment of Shuksip in the 1980s. She spent her last years in Lhasa where her routine of prayer and devotions constantly interrupted by a stream of students, devotees, friends, relatives and well-wishers to whom she dispensed advice or admonition, gifts, blessings and other kindnesses. |
