Abstract本文作者認為「自我意識」 (`aha amkara`) 在數論哲學裏,是產生心靈和物質世界的主因. 此與大乘佛教瑜伽行派的末那識有異曲同工之妙. 由於有末那識故產生能所取的執著,藉禪定的修習,可以洞徹能所取的虛妄性,而體證無差別的「終極實在」. 到那時就能理解阿賴耶識川流不息的無常性,就不再以阿賴耶識為所依,也就是根除「自我意識」的結果是人經驗到生死基礎的轉變. 此即為瑜伽行流所說的轉依. 再說瑜伽行派轉依的理論,基本上是源自於數論,甚至於可遠推於奧義書.
