| Abstract | 《異部宗輪論》傳為世友所作，現梵本已不傳，但有三種漢譯本，和一藏譯本. 本文分為四節，第一節為前言，簡述《異部宗輪論》原梵文論名應是什麼， 考證作者世友 (Vasumitra) 年代及生平，列述世友的作品. 第二節敘述僧團分裂之因，分從四次結集來談. 對僧團分裂之因，絕不是只因一個原因，突然地分裂，它必然是具集許多因素，經過了相當長的時間而形成的. 第三節敘述所分的部派，分上座部和大眾部兩小節來述說，而所分出的部派，又有小的部派分支出來，而有十八部派或二十部派之說. 第四節從玄奘和義淨的記載，敘述幾個較出名的部派，如大眾部，上座部，說一切有部等，在地理上的分佈情形.
